Skweezer Ad Marketplace Successfully Completes Beta Testing

Mobile advertising platform officially launched after 10-month beta program.

Greenlight Wireless Corporation today announced the launch of its Skweezer Ad Marketplace™ (SAM), which optimizes text-based advertisements for the wireless Web, after 10 months of market testing.

SAM is a mobile advertising system that allows ad providers to reach the largely untapped mobile Web browsing market. The Skweezer Ad Marketplace leverages existing ad formats and Web content, so no new advertising assets need to be created to reach the millions of PDA, Smartphone, and cell phone users who access the wireless Web. SAM utilizes standard text-based ads and Skweezer's wireless optimization technology is fully integrated into the system, which eliminates the need for an ad's target Web page to be specially-prepared "mobilized" content.

The Skweezer Ad Marketplace works by collecting keywords and other information about a Web page and sending the results to multiple ad providers. These ad providers then return their ad candidates, the best of which are selected by SAM based on a combination of ad-word relevancy and cost-per-click. The winning ads are then placed on the target Web page as it loads onto a mobile device—the whole process taking less than one second. There are four top-tier ad providers currently participating in the Skweezer Ad Marketplace, though the system supports an unlimited number of contributors. SAM has been tested via Greenlight Wireless' free Skweezer service since December of 2004, in order to thoroughly evaluate the highly complex programming behind this system.
