Maverick CEO's Gay and Lesbian (GLBTI) Wedding Company Expands

The making of a risky business: Gay Weddings. savvyplanners.com now expands to serve GLBTI wedding clients in the NY area.

(PRWEB) October 15, 2005 -- Savvyplanners.com is now a recognized business entity in New Jersey.

Featured in the UPI and the Washington Times as the first GLBTI-specific wedding firm in US history, savvyplanners.com is pleased with their growth.

Following a noteworthy year in the Florida Keys, savvyplanners.com maintains teams there and adds New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania as well.

The firm's headquarters are now in NJ. The move was prompted by demand for service from clients in the northeast. For the owner/CEO, it is "hard to leave paradise," but he looks forward to visiting.

That is, if he can. He started the company as just himself. Now many clients are specifically requesting him to personally handle their weddings and events.

"I knew that there was a place for the services we provide--- especially in protecting and serving the GLBTQI communities and our challenges as marriage equity evolves," says CEO MW Savant.

Their commitment is to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex persons seeking ceremonies and events. The company has enjoyed the patronage of open minded, traditional couples as well.

"There have been many challenges," Savant says about the two years of developing his company before it launched. "There was no data available to substantiate the move into the market. I love that now I have created a professional and welcoming business that embraces our clients and provides them the same services of traditional wedding and event coordinators but with an intrinsic understanding of what it means to be a member of the GLBT community."

savvyplanners.com's slogan is "Why Wait? Commemorate!" It reflects Savant's desire for the GLBTI family to stop wishing for the chance to have the ceremony they desired. He is convinced that marriage parity is a pending reality. Savant stated that "there is no gray area in equality."

"Being the first-mover is not something that I will ever regret. It allows us to learn,

establish protocols and to have done the hard work as our industry segment grows. This gives us a distinct advantage over our competitors."

Mr. Savant mentioned that challenges have been identifying vendors in the new territory who adhere to the company's demand for fair, professional treatment for all of their clients. He mentioned hostile vendors and venues who did not welcome GLBT ceremonies. He noted that the ratio of women-vs-men seeking ceremonies was surprising.

Paul Gregory, a staff member, said "We got known for our work for our gay and lesbian clientele but now clients are coming from all segments of the market."

"It's about the level of service," says Irma Rabinowitz, Client Care Director. "We have maintained a one hundred percent client satisfaction rating from all clients served."

The company has created a program called "Proposals in Paradise", wherein fantasy proposals are orchestrated for clients. A typical event is a private, tropical set-up on a beach, with a string quartet.

They have used steel pan players and harpists as well. Then a private, seaside meal. If the answer is a "yes" then champagne is served. On one occasion, a client requested a personal fireworks display off-shore in front of their table. They make provisions for rejected proposals.

This program has been a company exclusive and has happened in diverse locations such as schooners or on rooftops.

"I am working on original and enticing places to continue this service here in the northeast," Savant said. "It is tremendous to have the proposal be as memorable as the wedding to come."

Raised in New Jersey, Savant said "The NY metro has anything that anyone could desire. I am glad to bring this standard home"

When asked his motivation, he was candid. "This is a gigantic business opportunity and no secret that GLBTI weddings are estimated to be a 16.5 billion dollar industry. I wanted to make a living at something I was good at. As a member of the GLBTI community, I wanted to contribute my skills and experience. To be a part of someone's memories and help to make a dream wedding come true."

savvyplanners.com is a full-service firm. Plans are being made for expansion into the south Pacific in 2006.

They offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Nationwide service is available. Contact them at 732.790.2605, Monday through Saturday, 10AM to 6PM(EST).

Representatives are available for guest appearances and interviews. They are prepared to speak about GLBTI and Traditional weddings and planning issues.
