Aspiring Film Producer Offers Involvement in Upcoming Movie For an Investment of £25

Fantail Productions intend to finance their low-budget movie "Back to the Fantail" by offering involvement in return for a nominal investment of £25.

London, England (PRWEB) October 20, 2005 -- Fantail Productions are offering the chance to get involved in their upcoming low-budget film production, "Back to the Fantail" for a nominal investment of £25.

Investors will receive a copy of the screenplay and access to a private Internet discussion forum where they can debate the script, vote on changes, and generally get involved in all the major decisions.

Budding actors can post up their profiles and casting will be done by majority vote of investors. Investors will also have the opportunity to appear in the film as extras if they wish, and will receive a copy of the completed film on DVD.

"This isn’t about creating a blockbuster or high-art, it’s about movie fans inspired by the recent wave of fan movies getting together to see what they can do – it’s an exciting experiment", says John King, the author of the screenplay.

He continues "We aren't taking any money until we see how much interest there is in the project. We could make a movie with as little as 6 investors, but it would be a lot more interesting (though chaotic!) with a few hundred. We hope to pick up some corporate sponsorship – I’ve no problem with product placement so long as it's not from a firm that manufactures landmines in third world sweat-shops - we just couldn't fit it into the script". Clearly, for those interested in getting involved a sense of humour would be an asset.

Whilst no movie making experience is required to get involved in the project, he is realistic about the need for people with experience too, "We definitely need some film students with access to equipment and the knowledge of how to use it, otherwise it will just be an overblown home movie." "Film students will get the chance to practice their trade, the rest of us will have an unforgettable experience. Even if it ends up being used in film school as a textbook example of how NOT to make a movie, it’s still a win-win situation, and no one will lose more than about the cost of about 2-3 DVDs."
