Global Security Associates Develops Recovery and Security Plans for Businesses Affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita

Businesses and facilities impacted by recent hurricane activity in the Gulf Region seek protection of property and personnel.

New York, NY (PRWEB) October 21, 2005 -- Global Security Associates, LLC, a global aviation and executive protection security firm has been supporting businesses, in the Gulf region of the U.S., impacted by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Immediately after Katrina struck, GSA mobilized its security personnel to handle a broad range of unfolding events. As these dramatic events were broadcast around the world, the situation was all too real for the businesses and personnel struggling to protect lives and property. Coming to the aid of several facility owners, GSA provided the necessary policing strategies and highly trained personnel to help keep the situation from escalating.

As a company specializing in emergency services with a military background, force protection plans were immediately implemented in the wake of Katrina and were put into position in anticipation of Rita’s path in Texas. “We approached Hurricane Rita a little differently by anticipating the needs of property owners in her path. By monitoring her movements we knew where best to focus our efforts,” explains William McGuire, president and CEO of Global Security Associates. Utilizing the expertise of 40-plus GSA security professionals, the company was responsible for over a dozen sites throughout the Gulf Region after Katrina. The plan was to ensure these properties would not fall prey to civil unrest, theft and vandalism, which GSA carried out.

Even today, there exist ongoing problems with infrastructure in the region so GSA’s work continues to provide protection to facilities as the rebuilding process moves forward. “We are very prepared to handle situations which are in the midst of complete chaos and are wrought with people going through desperate situations. As the people move back into the region they are discovering a lack of infrastructure which can perpetuate the cycle all over again. Businesses realize this and have sought our services to prevent chaos at their facility which also alleviates the burden on the emergency services personnel overwhelmed in the region,” he says.

Global Security Associates embarked on a crisis management and emergency response framework which was designed to quickly manage the consequences of this natural disaster. GSA was able to supplement the efforts of local officials and the federal government to assist businesses with the assessment of damage to their physical plant sites, develop recovery plans specific to this disaster and to engage in monitoring and securing of facilities, equipment and personnel.

It is important for businesses to properly assess the safety of their sites so employees can return to work, feel safe doing so and get back to business so the rebuilding of the community can take place. With more than twenty-years responding to security emergencies, GSA is uniquely equipped to help in the rebuilding of infrastructure by providing a premier security service.
