Philadelphia (PRWEB) October 24, 2005 -- Fashion and beauty are multi-billion-dollar industries, making them among the hottest fields in the world today. On November 19th, Evoluer Image Consultants, in partnership with The Enterprise Center, will deliver career aspirants in these fields an exclusive opportunity to hear from a handful of African-American insiders who’ve hustled their way into the big time. A Style Symposium: Breaking into the Real-World Fashion & Beauty Industries will take place Saturday, Nov. 19, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. at The Enterprise Center, 4548 Market Street.
The insider panel will feature Gucci visual director Donald Taylor (United States, South America, Canada), celebrity make-up artist Anthony Jones (Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, ABC, VH-1), celebrity hair stylist Karen Bishop (Nia Long, Tyra Banks, Essence, Heart & Soul), fashion stylist and Hype Hair magazine editor Generaldo Scott, premiere New York publicist Sari Melinda Baez (Signature Apparel Group: Rocawear Juniors, MTV Cribs home furnishings collection), and Philadelphia University assistant professor and international fashion marketing and sourcing consultant Natalie Weathers.
Says Evoluer Creative Director and symposium moderator Cheryl Ann Wadlington, “I hope to inspire the beautiful women and the talented artists of this tri-state area to become serious about the way they approach and conduct their careers.”
And for the beauties and talents who have mustered the right stuff, firms like New York fashion recruiters 24 Seven will be on hand accepting composite cards and resumes. The day promises to deliver an atmosphere more familiar to the fashion capitals of the world.
Evoluer is the creation of Wadlington, an accomplished writer (co-author, SoulStyle: Black Women Redefining the Color of Fashion), journalist (Essence, Savoy, Black Enterprise), popular television show guest (NBC-10’s “10,” Comcast News-8) and sought-after motivational speaker.
Wadlington called the Enterprise Center, “the ideal institution to partner with because their belief is that the entrepreneurial spirit is the keystone of successful communities. The Center’s entire initiative is built around helping minority businesses grow. And that’s what this whole event is about – empowering people to succeed.”
Tickets: $50 at the door, $40 in advance (RSVP by Nov. 11) For questions, call 215-592-8988.
Media: Wadlington and guest speakers are available for advance interviews and on-air discussions. Contact publicist Sheila Simmons, at 215-229-8120.
