Internet Consulting Firm Launches Michigan Walk of Fame Website

The Michigan Walk of Fame, the only comprehensive "walk of fame" in the nation, is now accepting nominations online. A leading Michigan Internet consultant designed the website and nomination process to be managed completely online.

(PRWEB) October 24, 2005 -- The Michigan Walk of Fame, the only comprehensive "walk of fame" in the nation, is now accepting nominations online. The Michigan Walk of Fame http://www.michiganwalkoffame.com is a partnership between the Lansing Principal Shopping District http://www.lansingpsd.com, Downtown Lansing Inc., the Michigan Historical Museum and the city of Lansing. The walk will honor Michigan residents, past or present, which have made significant contributions to the state, nation or the world in the categories of entertainment, business, civic affairs or social advances.

Spartan Internet Consulting Corp. http://www.spartaninternet.com, a Lansing-based Web consulting firm with additional offices in Detroit and Washington DC, won the contract to develop the Michigan Walk of Fame Web site. The entire Michigan Walk of Fame nomination and judging process will be conducted online. After the online nomination process is complete, category nominations will be electronically accessed by judges located around the state. Judges will be able to electronically review the nominations and respond with their evaluations and comments.

Kevin Green, executive director of the Lansing Principal Shopping District, stated, "The need for time consuming collective meetings is eliminated. If we need to convene, we can do so through group conference calling, if not instant messaging." Green said his organization anticipates thousands of nominations online. The nomination deadline is December 2, 2005.
