St. Onge Hosts ÂNew Web Site
Teams Up With P&G, Kraft, Lockheed Martin
& Other Supply Chain Providers
York, Pa. Â The Consumer Direct Forum (CDF), a Web site designed to assist supply chain businesses, is now being managed by the St. Onge Co., a global consulting/engineering firm that specializes in logistics strategy and creative plant layout and distribution center design.
The CDF site (http://www.cdlogistics.com) provides business models and logistics for online retailers and consumer direct practioners throughout the entire spectrum of the supply chain industry. The CDF creates a learning center and a consortium of expertise that supports development and implementation of these solutions.
CDF members include St. Onge Co., P&G, Kraft, Siemens Dematic, Lockheed Martin, EXE Technology, AMR Research and Descartes.
ÂParticipation in the CDF is an enlightened, intelligent decision for companies that want to learn more about business models that make the supply chain more efficient and successful, said
Paul Evanko, vice president of the St. Onge Co.
Membership in the CDF is open to companies interested in the consumer direct business. Membership includes suppliers of supply chain services and equipment, online retailers and catalog distributors.
ÂThe CDF is designed to provide our members with concrete, real-world solutions that we are convinced will affect the bottom line in a positive way, Evanko said.
A primary design feature of the CDF is its ability to provide supply chain operation models from which online retailers and other consumer-direct companies can draw upon to solve even the most troublesome logistical problems.
CDFÂs initial focus centered on the home grocery delivery channel, but that focus is broadening to include all forms of online retail and consumer direct fulfillment, Evanko explained.
ÂWhat makes the CDF worthwhile for current members and those who consider joining is the brainpower we supply, Evanko said. ÂThe forum is a combination of a learning center and consortium where the best brains invite, express, challenge and implement workable supply chain ideas and models. It provides a team of experts literally a click away.Â
In addition to its online presence, the CDF also provides quarterly educational meetings, where members exchange ideas in congenial surroundings.
The initial web site was launched in 2000. Members of the CDF asked St. Onge Co. to host the site because of its reputation within the supply chain industry and its familiarity with Knowledge Management through its Institute St. Onge.
