"Today is a tragic day for all Americans," said Jim Dean, chair of Democracy for America. "The loss of 2,000 brave servicemen and women marks one of the saddest and worst days of the war in Iraq. These vigils are a way for Americans to honor the fallen and their families, and to stand with all our men and women in uniform."
