Maple Grove, MN (PRWEB) October 27, 2005

FlowSense announced today that it will be joining Governor Tim Pawlenty on an unprecedented trade mission to China.

Governor Tim Pawlenty will lead as many as 100 businesses, government, academic and civic leaders to China November 11-19. The weeklong trip is the largest trade mission in Minnesota history and is believed to be the largest mission to China undertaken by any state. FlowSense will be part of the environmental delegation on this trade mission.

Paul Smallwood, president and CEO of FlowSense has previously traveled to China and recently provided his personal reflection about China in FlowSense's Fall 2005 newsletter:

In preparing for an upcoming trade mission to China in November, I often reminiscence of my journeys to China a decade ago, calling to mind the vibrancy of its people and the breakneck speed at which China has economically progressed. It dawned on me that I am about to embark on yet another trek of our contracting planet, and will witness once again the accelerated expansion of the world markets.

While I travel at the speed of sound across the ocean, is globalization expanding or contracting? Could this be the Big Bang theory at its purest microeconomic form? It’s astounding how our world has tightly integrated global economic habits through innovations.    Paradoxically, the Great Wall was built over two thousand years ago to keep invaders at bay; today, the economic gate of China is wide open to those seeking directions to newly paved silk roads.

With each day of increased world economic mobilization, our planet becomes smaller and no great wall can isolate the globalization that interweaves our economic existence. An excellent paradigm of this observation is a business event I attended recently, which was comprised of government officials and business leaders from my childhood province in Vietnam. In my wildest dreams, I could have never anticipated crossing paths with visitors from my province who had ventured to Minnesota seeking business opportunities - six degrees of separation indeed!

Within the circle of life at FlowSense, we connect to the world by taking proactive steps toward strategic growth while influencing optimistic changes for the betterment of our environment. Our accomplishments thus far are small but measured stepping stones, and we will continue to advance and seek innovative solutions for a cleaner and safer world.

To our clients and solution partners: thank you for giving us an opportunity to make a difference!

Best Regards,

Paul H. Smallwood
