Vancouver, Canada (PRWEB) October 28, 2005 -- Solomon Resources Ltd. (SRB:TSX-V) is pleased to provide an update on its exploration programs in Mongolia. Solomon is exploring projects, subject to its Option Agreement with Gallant Minerals Ltd., covering 22 projects in Mongolia.

Bayantsagaan Gold Project – Drilling Program Status

Core drilling commenced on September 12th on this gold exploration project, located 110 km northeast of Ulaanbaatar, and 35 km southwest of the Boroo Gold Mine. The planned program of 8 core holes was completed on October 14th, however one additional hole was added, to step-out from visible gold mineralization recognized in hole BT-07. A total of 9 holes and 1,530 m of drilling have been completed under contract to Landrill International based in Moncton, New Brunswick. All core samples, including blind blank and standard samples, have been submitted to SGS Analabs Pty. Ltd. in Ulaanbaatar. Initial assay results are expected by the end of October. Check assays are being provided by ALS Chemex in Vancouver.

Onon Gold Project – Geophysics Results and Drilling Program Planned

A ground geophysics survey covering six square kilometres was completed at the Onon Gold Project in northeastern Mongolia. The geophysics program included 110 line-kms of gradient-array, induced polarization surveys completed under contract by GeoMaster Engineering of Ulaanbaatar. Solomon has also retained Wave Geophysics L.L.C. of Evergreen, Colorado to provide ongoing additional review and interpretation of all geophysical data from its Mongolia projects.

The objective of the survey was to identify sub-surface, gold-bearing sulphide zones, in covered areas, that extend from areas of exposed bedrock, containing gold mineralization. The survey also covered two topographic, circular “ring structures” which consist of roughly 200 m wide valleys, covered by alluvium and vegetation. The topographic ring structures form a circular shape, approximately 2 km in diameter and are interpreted to be either diatreme-structures, or intersecting fault zones. The ring structures surround a central ridge which contains extensive gold mineralization, with values up to 6 g/t, in brecciated, silicified, sedimentary rocks. I.P. survey results have identified three strong chargeability anomalies, two of which occur with the western ring structure. Based on the combined data from a) previous rock and drill core gold assays, b) chargeability data from the recent I.P. survey, and c) ground magnetics data, four inclined drill holes have been planned, totalling 1000 m. Drilling is planned to begin by the end of October.

Chandmani Gold-Copper Project

Solomon field crews have completed a program of confirmation geological mapping, prospecting and bedrock sampling on its Chandmani gold-copper project located within the Lake District, in northwest Mongolia. Results are currently being reviewed in preparation for release shortly.

The project is located in mountainous terrain, 140 km southeast of Khovd City, which has regular scheduled air service from Ulaanbaatar. The Chandmani Project contained four licenses, covering 29,073 hectares (290 km²) of mineral lands. One additional license has been acquired, covering 6,340 hectares (63 km²), bringing the total to 35,413 hectares (354 km²), and one additional license application is in process.
