On April 4, 2004, Darlene Reschke was a passenger in a 1987 black Dodge Ram SUV, driven by her husband Steven Reschke. Mr. & Mrs. Reschke are from Forney, Texas. Ms. Collins was attempting to make an illegal u-turn on FM740. Mr. & Mrs. Reschke were traveling north on FM740. Ms. Collins caused the accident resulting in the injuries to Mr. & Mrs. Reschke.

Mrs. Reschke’s injuries included a C-6/C-7 transverse process fracture. Mrs. Reschke had surgery at Baylor Hospital and remained hospitalized for approximately 10 days. Mrs. Reschke also suffered rib fractures, and soft tissue injuries. Mrs. Reschke’s total medical expenses were in excess of $130,000.00.
