(PRWEB) November 10, 2005 -- Defendant ZLC Construction, L.L.C. was a general contractor operating in Texas.

On or about late April or early May of 2003, ZLC subcontracted Ronald Hawitt d/b/a Touch Painting for its services in refurbishing the Phoenix Apartments complex in Dallas, Texas.

Plaintiff, Jorge Sanchez, was an employee of Touch Painting. For two months, he and approximately forty other men worked on a daily basis painting and finishing the exterior of the three-story apartment complex structures.

The orientation of the doors and the trim directed to be painted was such that Plaintiff and his co-workers were required to suspend their bodies on the balcony exteriors, painting with one hand and holding on to a railing or some other fixture with the other hand.

While Plaintiff was painting with his free hand, Plaintiff slipped and fell from the third floor window, which was approximately 36 feet from the ground. He landed on the cement below, impacting the ground with his arms and head.

Plaintiff incurred approximately $200,000 in past medical expenses. The case ultimately settled for $550,000.00.

Mary Burdin of Burdin Mediations mediated the case. The case ultimately settled approximately three weeks before trial.
