"The Famous Fakes: Hot ’n Heavy Hilarity"

(PRWEB) November 1, 2005 -- It’s the American dream -- becoming a celebrity. Two problems: they’re celebrity impersonators. And, they’re not American.

So how can the Famous Fakes, three self-proclaimed “studs” (and world-proclaimed “losers”) from Winnipeg, Canada, ever become the Next Big Thing in Hollywood? The answer could be one extraordinary woman: the Latest Fake!

In this spoof-biography-within-a-novel, author J. D. Guinness interviews Paul, Steve, and Jean. Three friends who impersonate Charlie Chaplin and Laurel & Hardy. For 15 years they’ve been at it, with little to show but a lot of failed gigs and failed, tangled relationships.

Which begs the question, do they really love to do it, or do they really do it for love? Despite enormous tensions and resentments in the group, the boys can’t resist the lure of the stage, and the "protection" that a stage family provides. So, they decide to get back together to do one more show with a new member, Paul’s friend Karla, who plays Mae West. Karla’s boisterous presence threatens the old-boys-club mentality and utter sexism of the Famous Fakes, and yet, she appears to bring them ever so closer to staging a hit show… Yes, as long as nothing goes wrong…!

As their strange tale of excess unfolds, the team’s outrageous boasting makes for hilarious contrast with Guinness’s bemused, and often sardonic, narration. All of it leading to the wildest, rawest, most unexpected finale you ever saw from three dead mimes and a dead sexpot!

Perhaps, in order to “be yourself”, you first have to “do” everyone else? Find out! Loaded with sex, comedy, and drama, The Famous Fakes is your front-row ticket to fast, frank, fiendish adult fun. Accept no substitutes!
