St. George Corrective Vision Center Acquires iTrace System

Chicago eye center adds a new eye tracking system. The system improves the results of Lasik surgery.

CHICAGO, IL (PRWEB) November 4, 2005 -- The St. George Corrective Vision Center in Chicago recently acquired the iTrace tracking system that allows for a customized Lasik procedure for each patient.

“iTrace provides a faster, more precise and objective method for measuring refraction. When used with the Nidek EC5000 Scanning Laser, it results in clearer crisper vision,” explains Dr. Nicholas Caro, medical director. “Developed for the space industry to track satellites and missiles, iTrace provides better results than the basic wave front analysis used by most other ophthalmologists.”

“The addition of the iTrace System allows us to continue to provide our patients with the latest technologies,” adds Dr. Caro who has performed more than 20,000 procedures.

Dr. Caro has been at the forefront of new technologies. He was one of the first doctors in the Chicago area to perform LASIK and the center was a FDA test site for this corrective eye procedure. He also has developed several instruments that are used in performing LASIK. His current research focuses on a non-invasive method for treating presbyopia, the type of farsightedness caused by aging.

Located on Chicago’s northwest side, the St. George Corrective Vision Center was the Midwest’s first center dedicated to corrective eye surgery.
