Barter Helps Finance New Boston Harborwalk Attraction

The Boston Yacht Haven is issuing $500,000 in trade certificates to help finance its inauguration on Boston's famous Harborwalk for the 2006 visitor season.

(PRWEB) November 4, 2005 -- The Boston Yacht Haven (www.BostonYachtHaven.com) is issuing $500,000 in trade certificates to help finance its inauguration on Boston's famous Harborwalk for the 2006 visitor season.

The certificates, worth $1,000 each, can be used for the Boston Yacht Haven's deep-water marina facilities, luxury guest rooms, oceanfront event center, and gourmet catering.

The new resort complex is already one of the most photographed landmarks along the harbor. Its architecture won the Prism Award for Best Commercial Project, and visitors from around the world consistently give its hotel and restaurant 5-star reviews.

The barter campaign is intended to leverage the efforts of architects, engineers, exhibit designers, art directors, media producers and event organizers who will make the Boston Yacht Haven the newest favorite destination on the Harborwalk.

Boston first envisioned the Harborwalk in 1984 as a continuous 43-mile trail around the historic Boston Harbor. The city is now ready to post new promotional billboards throughout Boston directing people to access points along the Harborwalk, such as the Boston Yacht Haven.

The most popular segment of the Harborwalk is in the upscale neighborhood next to Boston's financial district. It takes strollers from the New England Aquarium through Columbus Park, Rose Kennedy Park, past Commercial Wharf -- where the Boston Yacht Haven is located -- to "Little Italy."

The new city parks and perennial gardens feature playgrounds and vast pedestrian spaces with pushcarts and cafes, and the drop-off points for the Trolley Tours and the Boston Harbor Cruises.

The city is now facilitating construction of a boardwalk for pedestrians to walk the full length of Commercial Wharf which will give sightseers a close-up look at the 105 slips in its marina, a world-class showcase of celebrity yachts, mega-yachts and other vessels visiting Boston.

In addition, the Boston Yacht Haven will be a major stop for the Boston Water Taxi, which offers a non-stop connection across the harbor to Boston's Logan International Airport, and services a local route stopping at historic sites along the Harbor.

The Boston Yacht Haven's trade certificates will be honored for all-barter/no-cash transactions. They are being offered to companies providing goods and services that can enhance the Boston Yacht Haven's participation in the Harborwalk master plan.
