Country's First Baby Boomer Pageant Won by Joyce O'Brien of Pennsylvania

The first annual Ms. Golden America Pageant for women age fifty and over took place in Fort Myers, Florida and was won by 55 year old Joyce O’Brien from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Naples, FL (PRWEB) November 5, 2005 -- Joyce O’Brien from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania won the first Ms. Golden America Pageant on Saturday October 29, 2005. The pageant took place at the Harborside Event Center in Fort Myers, Florida.

Mrs. O’Brien has been married for 36 years to her high school sweetheart. They have two sons and 4 grandchildren.

She was the first woman ever elected to hold the County Register of Wills post in Berks County Pennsylvania since the county was founded. After 30 years in both the private and public sector, she was hired by PA Attorney General Tom Corbett as The Community Liaison for Public Protection. In this position, she travels all across the state of Pennsylvania educating seniors about scams, fraud and identity theft that often target seniors.

Mrs. O’Brien received her BA in Communications from Thomas Edison State College at the age of 47.

She enjoys exercising in the gym, golfing and riding her Harley Davidson. She got her license and started riding her Harley at age 48.

Along with holding the title for the year, Mrs. O’Brien will receive a diamond solitaire necklace and a one week vacation for two to New Life Hiking Spa. New Life Hiking Spa is a nationally recognized and award winning destination spa in Killington, Vermont.
