New Employees Find the Door Faster When They Report to a Bad Boss Badbossology.com and Development Dimensions International survey finds that more than 50% of new employees leave their positions prematurely when they realize that they have a bad boss. Toronto, ON (PRWEB) November 8, 2005 -- Based on a recent Badbossology.com survey sponsored by Development Dimensions International (http://www.ddiworld.com), more than 50% of new employees leave their positions prematurely when they realize that they have a bad boss.
"Workers don’t leave a job—they leave a boss," said Rich Wellins, Senior Vice President, DDI. "A supervisor has a significant impact on employee retention and bad bosses will have revolving door of people on their team."
Specifically, when asked how long they would stay in a new job if they immediately realized that they had a bad boss, of the 637 people who completed the Badbossology.com survey: 10% would quit immediately; 36% would give it 3-6 months; 10% would stay until they got their annual review; and 40% would see if they could wait it out in view of the current economy.
A follow-up survey question, also sponsored by Development Dimensions International, a global human resource consulting firm, asks, "Have you done any of the following to get revenge on a bad boss?" This question's four potential answers along with results to date are available at: www.badbossology.com.
