(PRWEB) November 9, 2005 -- "Our Children" the documentary is about the relationship between music, television, movies and the affects they have on our children. It poses a few simple questions. First is there an affect and if so is it negative?

Seket Aanru Films, known for promoting the imagery of hip-hop with its violence, misogyny and rebellious undertones has done a complete 180 with this project. It delves deeply into enemy territory. Interviewing parents, teachers, clergy, community activists, entertainment insiders and the children themselves about the affects of music, movies and TV on impressionable minds.

The unbiased documentary will be released on DVD December 10, 2005. It goes a step beyond just asking the questions. It earnestly seeks a solution. Almost everyone involved says that there is an influence but they disagree as to the degree.

Cathy Hughes, President of Radio One and TV One says, “There are limits to what materials are allowed on her stations.” And goes on to marvel at the impact the urban voice has had affecting change in out society.

The mayor of Seat Peasant, MD, who has seen a double digit increase in violent acts in his community, clearly sees a problem but places the blame on the individuals. “I don’t believe that rap or rock music are wholly responsible for what’s going on but it can create a certain mindset in some people.” Is there a middle ground? Everyone has a unique perspective on the situation and a variety of solutions are suggested. All of which include a measure of personal responsibility from the artists, parents and the entertainment industry.

During the 60 minute discussion our problems are placed in plain view and some solutions are handed out. But the answers are not simple. “Our Children are in Pain”, is a must see for anyone who wants or needs a greater understanding of what’s going on in our world today. Overall the message is clear. Join the debate, see through the eyes of everyone involved, take some of the advice offered and find out what solutions can work best for you.
