Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) November 10, 2005 -- On the heels of an 8-1 weekend against the point spread in college football, Doc’s Sports will release their Big Ten Game of the Year this Saturday, Nov. 12. This game helped the sports information and handicapping company, which is in its 35th year in business, become a worldwide phenomenon as the Game of the Year hit an unprecedented 19 years in a row, even moving the betting line in Las Vegas more than seven points one year.

“There have been a few professional handicappers over the years that have been able to influence the Las Vegas line, but at one point during our 19-year streak there were so many people that wanted to go with our play that the line was moved more than seven by the bookmakers,” said Doc Moseman, owner and founder of Doc’s Sports. “The oddsmakers knew they would get so much money on our side that they had to move the line to protect themselves since all the action was coming from one direction.”

Doc’s started the company in 1971 with one phone line and big dreams. Thanks in part to the Big Ten Game of the Year and endless dedicated hours pouring over lines and statistics, Doc’s has stood the test of time and remains one of the most well known companies in the thriving sports handicapping business.

“We have always taken a low-key approach, and that is the reason I think that we have been so successful over the years,” added Moseman. “We are always honest and tell the customer that there are no sure things. Although we give them the best chance to win, there are always unforeseen things that can happen. In all our years in business, we have never made an unsolicited outgoing phone call. If you work hard and do a good job, the customers will always be there.”

Doc’s has been releasing their Big Ten Game of the Year since 1972 and it is their strongest play of the year in any sport (Doc’s releases expert picks in college and pro football and basketball along with MLB and NHL selections, among others). Doc’s picks this game according to a variety of intangibles, which include many motivational factors.

“You look for things like revenge or whether a team has a morale problem,” commented Moseman. “There may be a team that started the season poorly but is just starting to come on and have some success. A lot of times we will take a home team in a game that is the final game for the seniors on the squad. Those are the types of things we look for.”

Last year’s game was an example of how things don’t always go as planned. Penn State hosted Iowa in their Homecoming game and came into the contest as 3-point favorites. Doc’s selection was the favorite and the game could have been won a handful of times in the second half but the home team blew many opportunities to score.

This year’s game, however, looks to be very strong – quite possibly the strongest Big Ten Game of the Year Doc’s has ever released.

“It is a perfect situation with this game,” concluded Moseman. “The timing is right and it is a very emotional game for this team. We are expecting big things this Saturday.”

Doc’s Sports has been in business since 1971 and it has established itself as one of the leaders in the sports information industry. Industry luminaries from Nevada to Costa Rica continue to praise Doc’s team for its hard work and strong moral fiber.
