LookSmart & RLG Partner to Bring Trove.net Images to Wider Audience RLG, a not-for-profit organization of research libraries, archives, and museums has partnered with LookSmart®, an online media and technology company specializing in vertical search, to give LookSmart's FindArticles.com users immediate access to over 209,000 rare and unusual images from RLG's Trove.net database. Trove.net contains works from major international collections -- renowned universities, national libraries, other research libraries, museums, and archives. All can be licensed for use. The partnership will bring RLG's Trove.net, a database containing over 209,000 rare and unusual images, to LookSmart's users through FindArticles -- LookSmart's dynamic search vehicle for free and premium content on the web.
Trove.net contains works from 300 BCE to the present and includes a variety of images from leading cultural heritage collections. The works represented range from papyrus fragments from ancient Greece, to Chaucer's "The Canterbury Tales," to vintage advertising labels, to 20th-century architectural photos. These images can be licensed for use by individuals and businesses.
