Valour-IT Facilitates Computer Access for Wounded Veterans in Grassroots Fundraiser

(Pasadena, CA) (PRWEB) November 11, 2005 -- In recognition of the continuing need to supply voice-activated laptops to wounded military personnel, Valour-IT has mounted a fundraising drive among major military and civilian bloggers. Representing the Air Force, Marines, Army and Navy, military and civilian bloggers with thousands of readers have raised over $40,000 in the first 5 days of a 10-day drive. Well-known bloggers participating in the goal of raising $84,000 before Veterans Day include Michelle Malkin, Glenn Reynolds, Hugh Hewitt, and NZ Bear. The Blogger teams are led by Holly Aho, Indepundit (Mrs. Smash), Mrs. Greyhawk, and Blackfive.

This fundraiser offers more than an opportunity to simply “support” wounded veterans. Voice activated laptops supplied through Valour-IT enable severely wounded soldiers to correspond with family and brothers in arms, connect with the world, and function as independent and effective members of society. Receiving a Valour-IT laptop is not simply a short-term emotional boost gleaned from the knowledge one is "remembered." It is assistance in reclaiming a bit of wholeness and independence in the face of life-altering injuries, repeated surgery, painful physical therapy, and the isolation of the hospital room. Each laptop reconnects a soldier and reestablishes personal dignity.
