Companies and Government Departments Donate Computers to Veterans, Elderly Institutions, and Army Related Groups During Rememberance Day Celebration

Refurbished and working computers collected from local companies such as Imperial Oil, The Brick, Office Depot, Calgary Tower, Telus Convention Center, and many others, are offered as donations to local veteran groups, Royal Canadian Legions, elderly home, and various Brigades and Reserves.

Deepak Obhrai, MP for Calgary East said, "In a country and province where we so quickly change and upgrade our computer systems, the Electronic Recycling Association is meeting a growing need. Not only are you focused on reducing the amount of waste in our landfills, you have also found a way to impact both charitable donations and developing countries. I commend your innovative approach and thank you for your contribution to our country and to future generations."

Bojan Paduh, ERA president in Calgary, said, "Many Alberta and Vancouver based companies support our organization by donating old computer for donations to many valuable causes. We donate many computers to local charitable organizations, elderly homes, third world contries in need, and many other places."

During this holiday season ERA has made it a point to donate working computers to local Royal Canadian Legions, veterans, elderly homes and various youth army related groups.

Any interested organization and individuals that feel this is something that can help them are invited to contact the ERA, in Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver. ERA also has various volunteer and work experience program, that can earn you a computer, teach you about computers, and at the same time benefit the community and environment.

Bill Bonko, MLA for Edmonton Decore said, "I think the efforts by the Electronic Recycling Association of Alberta are to be commended. Keeping waste out of the landfills and allowing for 30 percent of the “used” computers to be put back into the community is on track and allows Alberta to remain a leader in recycling initiatives.
