Fantasy, Intellect, and a $50,000 Treasure Hunt Fantasy, Intellect, and a $50,000 Treasure Hunt. A new puzzle game has 50,000 reasons to get you up off the couch. Washington, DC (PRWEB) November 13, 2005 -- In a holiday season that's packed with the latest in electronic and computer gadgetry, one on-line company is giving you a good reason to unplug and go outside. Actually, it's 50,000 reasons. On November 18th, ScrollQuest.com is releasing a publicaiton (see:Scroll) entitled “The Guardian's Amulet.” And while the mythic tale of Celtic bravery is fantastic in it's own right, it's not what makes this “Scroll” special. It's what's beneath the text. Clues to finding $50,000 in real treasure that has been hidden by ScrollQuest's creators.
“It's a modern day treasure hunt. Where your intellect and our imagination are the only keys to finding the treasure” says Author and ScrollQuest creator Jason King.
The treasure in question is a solid silver and gold amulet bejeweled with rubies and star sapphires and valued at over $50,000. In order to claim this bounty you must find a copper coin, emblazoned with the ScrollQuest logo, hidden somewhere in the continental United States. Directions to the location of this coin are hidden within the story of “The Guardian's Amulet.”
To find the location of this coin, all you have to do is solve a series of puzzles that have been embedded into the text and illustrations of “The Guardian's Amulet.” King insists that no special knowledge is required to solve these puzzles “Anyone can solve them. You just have to pay attention to detail.”
The hidden treasure coin is hidden on public property and is not hidden in any place dangerous.
King devised ScrollQuest to appeal to the sense of fantasy and adventure in everyone. “ I wanted to create a treasure hunt that was accessible to everyone. One that got people off the couch and engaged in active thinking. Historically, treasure has been a great motivator.”
With “The Guardian's Amulet” retailing for around $5, King's plan of making the quest accessible to everyone seems to have been met. The scroll will be available on November 18th and may be purchased from ScrollQuest.com, Amazon.com, Borders.com, and several independent book sellers.
“Everyone played pirates as a kid or pretended they were Indiana Jones in search of lost treasure. I hope that ScrollQuest can get a lot of us back in touch with that imagination. Let's just have some fun.”
