ASBURY PARK, NJ (PRWEB) November 15, 2005

Upstage Magazine, a monthly guide to the arts for Central New Jersey, is celebrating its second anniversary with a pair of shows at the Conduit in Trenton, New Jersey. The shows are on Monday, November 21st and Tuesday, November 22nd. Tickets for both nights are $5.

The lineup for the Monday show includes Cool Days End, Maybe Pete, The Dipsomaniacs, and Patrick’s Head. On Tuesday, the lineup includes Steel Mill, Republic, and Souls’ Release. Both nights will also include special appearances by singer-songwriter JPAT and Keith Monacchio of The Commons. The Conduit is located at 439 South Broad Street in Trenton, New Jersey.

Upstage Magazine recently took home two awards at the Asbury Music Awards show. For the second straight year, Upstage won the award for Top Music Website (AsburyMusic.com) and also won Top Music Journalist (Gary Wien). “I am very honored to have our publication received as well as it is,” said Gary Wien, publisher of Upstage Magazine. “Even though we haven’t been around for that long, people respect what we are trying to do. There is a lot of competition with daily newspapers, weekly publications, and other monthly magazines, but we seem to have carved out our own audience and I am very proud of that. We look forward to growing that audience and keeping things moving forward in the New Year.”

Upstage Magazine recently redesigned its website (upstagemagazine.com) to become the state’s leading daily arts & entertainment site. The publication is also about to raise its circulation again by adding the Lambertville/New Hope area to its distribution list. Upstage is currently distributed in New Brunswick, Princeton, Trenton, Red Bank, Asbury Park, Long Branch, and Point Pleasant. Issues are also available in PDF form online at the website.

It will be an exciting week in the state’s capital as Bruce Springsteen is playing across the street at the Sovereign Bank Arena on those same two nights. The Conduit will be opening early both nights to offer fans going to those shows a place to eat, drink and hang out for a few hours with live music and Springsteen songs played in the club. People are encouraged to come before the Springsteen show and also afterwards for one price of $5.

Many of the bands performing for the anniversary shows will appeal to fans of Bruce Springsteen. Monday’s show features Maybe Pete, a fan favorite of Backstreets.com “BTXers” as well as Cool Days End – a band that originally started out as a Bruce Springsteen tribute band and has since moved on to original songs. And Tuesday features Steel Mill led by Vini “Mad Dog” Lopez, the original drummer in both the E Street Band and Steel Mill, an early band led by Bruce Springsteen.

“They say the day before Thanksgiving is one of the best party nights of the year,” added Wien. “Well, this year we’re starting out a little earlier!”
