Digitech Introduces a 32-Channel Version of its Popular DigiView(tm) Digital Recording System

Digitech International expands its lineup of digial video recorders with a new 32-Channel Digital Recording System. DigiView™, one of the world's best digital video recording systems, teamed with DigiView™ Plus cameras and bright colorful monitors will show your customers you are serious about security and customer service.

(PRWEB) November 21, 2005 -- Known for its continuing stream of fresh technology for security applications, Digitech International now expands its lineup of digital video recorders with a device that handles up to 32 separate camera signals for display and recording. The DigiView(tm) Digital Recording System, first introduced almost a decade ago, serves as the heart of a video surveillance system, complementing the DigiView Plus(tm) series of security cameras.

"In today's marketplace, owners must protect themselves from liabilities on their own property," says Randy Johnston, Director of Business Development. "Displayed on the large, beautiful flat screen monitors that have now become affordable, the multiple camera images also help build the high security look that appeals to tenants and prospects. By using a large monitor and the 32-Channel DigiView(tm), the security display can cover more of the site and still give management a quick overview by glancing over a single monitor. It just makes keeping up with activity on the site quick and easy."

This DigiView(tm), with its larger capacity, affords the user all the outstanding features of the smaller units, but with increased capacity. "Image file size is one of the most important aspects of considering which DVR to select," says Alan Phillips, Digitech's Information Technology Specialist. "Our proprietary software generates a clearly superior image, and compresses it to a file size of only 6 kilobytes, compared to others that chew up much more hard drive storage space with their average file size of 25kb to 50kb files." DigiView's(tm) unique design employs two hard drives rather than just one. "We dedicate a drive to handle the system operations and control functions," says Phillips. "That makes the second drive available for nothing but archiving images. The scheme makes the process far more efficient and reliable." The standard hard drive for data storage is 120 gigabytes, with more storage capacity optionally available. "One of our goals is to make sure that each DVR ordered will have the storage capacity the user estimates as being appropriate. More cameras may mean more demand for storage, so we customize each order."

Like its earlier sister models, the 32-Channel DigiView(tm) features easy remote viewing with no additional software to buy or install. Each DVR can be assigned a static IP address that essentially makes it a network device. From that, an interface to the Internet for remote viewing from virtually any other computer anywhere in the world can easily be accomplished. "We've even had customers viewing their security cameras over a Pocket PC," says Johnston. "Some owners tell us it's a great way to keep up with the activities on site, even when they're out of town. Others use the feature to watch over their unmanned remote sites to see that everything is OK."

The 32-Channel DigiView(tm) rounds out the line of digital video recorders from Digitech that already features capabilities to customize coverage for 4-, 8-, and 16-camera setups. "The most important part of a video surveillance system is the recording device," says Johnston. "You need high quality professional cameras, but the images from the cameras must be protected for display and archiving to maintain the highest level of quality possible. Digiview(tm) does that!" Johnston concludes, "They're also easy to use if you ever have an incident and need to provide evidence, because each DigiView(tm) comes standard with a DVD or CD burner for downloading the images."
