Snares of Venus opens custom made underwear boutique in Houston.

Making a Difference

After graduating from college in 1999, costume designer and Snares of Venus owner Shelancia Daniel was tired of wearing the same uncomfortable bras over and over. While working part time on various movie sets, she began a self owned business “Snares of Venus”, to make custom bras for herself and other female friends.

Through word of mouth, Daniel’s clientele grew and three years later in November 2002, Snares of Venus made its online debut. Shopping for an attractive, great fitting bra from the comfort of ones own home was embraced by hundreds of women worldwide.

“I haven’t worn a bra in years” says Mary from Sydney, Australia, “I found their website on the internet and submitted my measurements, five weeks later; I had a bra delivered that fit like a glove.”

The second floor loft features oversized fitting rooms, on site manufacturing and has a comfortable nostalgic feeling, emanating from the hand painted floors and antique Dr. Pepper machine. The uniqueness doesn’t stop there, professional fittings, custom made bridal undergarments, and breast moldings are just a few of the other specialty services offered at the boutique.

With an average price tag of $85 a bra, every woman should own at least one good fitting, long lasting custom made bra. “When I picked up my bras, they fit!” says Rebecca from Houston, TX. “I feel like a new woman and I will definitely be ordering more.”
