Podcasting to the Tennis World

Although The Tennis Podcast is prolific amoung podcast directories on the internet, Kevin G. McClure introduces the program publicly for the first time. The new medium of choice is the podcast and in the tennis world, that means listening and subscribing to Kevin G. McClure's The Tennis Podcast.

Podcasting is a buzz of activity, but in the tennis world The Tennis Podcast is it. Search for “tennis instruction” in any of the major podcast directories, such as http://www.podcasts.yahoo.com , and you’ll find Kevin G. McClure’s The Tennis Podcast.

Kevin has already produced seven podcast shows with tennis instruction and industry news and updates. Additionally, he has had interviews with people of interest to the tennis industry. To date, he has interviewed Corey Clarke, a displaced New Orleans tennis pro from the Hilton Riverside Club; Michele Krause, the national manager of the Cardio Tennis Program; Jim Baugh, the president of the Tennis Industry Association; Jeff Williams, publisher of Tennis Magazine and posted a previous interview with Jim Courier, talking about World Team Tennis.

The Podcast is a free subscription and is broken down into sections covering what Kevin McClure refers to as “patterns”. Stroke Patterns or tips on technique, Footwork Patterns, Play Patterns or court strategy, Mental Patterns, Industry News and Updates – which lately has been podcasted separately as the industy interviews, and often Equipment information.

Kevin G. McClure is the Director of Tennis at Sport Fit in Bowie, Maryland. He is a P1 certified tennis pro with the United States Professional Tennis Association (uspta). His history includes over 20 years as a head pro or director of tennis and he has worked at commercial and country clubs. During the 3 seasons that he coached at McLean High School in Virginia, he took both the boy’s and girl’s high school tennis teams to their first District Championships in recorded school history. During the same time frame, he also ran the Area Training Center, a USTA high performance junior program for Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. Kevin is also a two-time seminar contest winner for the Mid-Atlantic Professional Tennis Association and represented them at the National Conference in Cancun, Mexico. Before teaching full-time Kevin was the captain and number one player for the University of Richmond, Virginia and went on to compete nationally and internationally.
