In The Spirit Of Pasty Cline

What Does Patsy Cline and A Gay Man Have In Common ?

(PRWEB) December 5, 2005 -- We hear so many personal stories about males and females being trapped in another gender’s body or genders they just can’t adjust to. And what do most of us do, we are indifferent, judgmental, and insensitive. Well, it’s safe to say that most of us can’t even begin to imagine what it feels like to believe or feel that your intended gender is not who you truly are.

Why is it such a challenge to be true to oneself? Talking about psychological unrest. Individuals such as this should be commended for taking risks of possibly being subjected to slander, hate, discrimination, and medical procedures just for the sake of inner peace.

This statement holds true, for Las Vegas entertainer and singer Jamie Fox. Jamie Fox was born male, with 9 brothers and sisters. When Jamie was the at the tender age of 6 he always felt that his body should be different. Not because of jealousy or self-esteem issues, but because of something internal, something beyond the surface of understanding. Through trials and tribulations, heart ache and the death of his parents, Jamie found the strength from his mother to step “out of the box” and entertain.

If one were to close their eyes and listen to Jamie singing, one would think they were listening to the legendary Pasty Cline. It’s uncanny and it’s Jamie singing songs by Patsy Cline. It’s rare to discover voices that sound almost identical. It’s no wonder why Fox states, “Patsy Cline is one of my role models although she is no longer with us her music was a big part of my becoming an entertainer. I think the fact that I sing a lot of her songs has always made me feel like she lives in me a little. Lord knows there’s room for two of us in here. Ha ha and I feel as though she takes me over when I sing songs like “Crazy” , and “Leavin’ On Your Mind”. Yes, thank you Patsy. And I really have to look up to my dad who worked very hard to take care of his family at the same job for 31 years gees just the thought of it. I am very lucky to be able to do what I love”.

Everybody’s story is different and everybody deals with issues and challenges differently. Some of us overcome the hurdles thrown in our direction and some of us don’t as a result we tend to make unhealthy choices.

In closing, Jamie comments about goals, living one’s dreams, and support, “I think my main goal is to always put on a good show and always push myself to be better . I would love to someday end up in one of the big showrooms at a casino or a hotel performing for people who love good music and good times and me of course. And to be able to do this till I die. Life is a stage and I’m just glad it’s a big one!!! A person, first of all, needs to be well informed so I would seek out others in the community like my self and ask about support groups . And this has not been easy for me . There were people along the way who were not nice to me at times. And it was a good thing that I had my mother and father who cared for me because during the time when I first went through this it was almost unheard of. Also I think now if you are able to find a gay community center in your area most of the time they can be very supportive to TS's( transsexuals) and TV's(transvestites). In the end you have your self , just be true to who you are and your path will become very clear to you. Just like mine did!!!!!!!”

This “Patsy Cline Sound-A-Like” performs every Friday night at Flex 4347 W Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas NV.

“Sometimes we get what we want, it just takes time and a lot of razors and Max Factor” Jamie Fox.
