Launch of Singapore’s First Mobile Phone Audio Guide

The National Museum of Singapore becomes the first cultural attraction to adopt Walk The Talk, a mobile phone audio guide for indoor and outdoor exhibits. Just dial 6622-6226 and you’re in!

Mobile Adventures Limited has launched Walk the Talk™ in Singapore. The service will allow visitors to explore the National Museum of Singapore and its fascinating exhibits in an entirely new way by dialing into fun and entertaining narratives any time of day, 7 days a week. A temporary demonstration of the audio guide was launched to coincide with the completion of the exterior façade of the restored museum. The full audio guide will be launched in 2006.

The mobile phone museum guide offers all the benefits of a traditional museum audio guide plus several unique enhanced features. Walk the Talk™ will be the world’s first museum audio guide to feature indoor and outdoor exhibits, interaction allowing visitors to leave their own comments as well as listen to those of others, MMS postcards, SMS coupons and multiple languages.

Dial in to hear stories about the new museum’s three primary architectural motifs: the beautifully restored colonial era dome, a glass drum that is the modern interpretation of the old dome and a magnificent glass connector that seamlessly links the old and new wings of the museum. The audio guide will seek to entertain and educate with a lively mix of popular and curatorial narratives, available via the audio guide’s hierarchical menu system. The walks in Hong Kong are sold up-front for US$5.00 and the walks in Macau are free to anyone on the CTM network.
