Avant Garde Designer Grace Edwards To Open Her First Retail Store in New York City

Avant-garde fashion designer Grace Edwards is opening her first retail store in New York City's Chelsea section on 12/15/05. The store's official opening will feature a reception in the evening, and showcase three other designers (jewelry, accessories, menswear). All will be featuring and selling their collections during the event.

New York, NY (PRWEB) December 13, 2005 -- Grace Edwards, an avant-garde designer is opening her first retail store in New York City (Chelsea section) on Thursday, December 15, 2005.

The store, located at 155 Eighth Avenue (between 17th & 18th Streets) is a collaboration between her and owner, Shobuz Kandakar,and will feature one-of-a-kind, limited edition designs from Ms. Edwards’ ready-to-wear and couture collection including pieces from her “Hot Cities / Hot Spices” collection, which debuted in the Fall of 2005.

The store will open beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. There will be an official reception in the evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Items from Ms. Edwards’ ready-to-wear and couture collection will be available for sale.

Sharing the spotlight with Ms. Edwards at this event will be three other designers offering unique and diverse items. They include: Encarnita Pascuzzi, a jewelry designer from Singapore whose custom, handmade designs incorporate the use of silver and semi-precious stones from Southeast Asia. Debbie Brooks, a handbag designer whose pop artwork has attracted a celebrity clientele for its whimsical designs and Edmond Handwerker of Maison Dumond, a menswear designer, whose custom tailored ties and accessories are known for their quality as well as an ability to generate a conversation. Ms. Edwards says that she “is excited about her first retail adventure and loves being able to work with, provide a greater exposure for other emerging designers in this venture.”
