Philosopher Garden Gives Celebrities a Chance to Make a Statement

How did two Orange County mothers from the tech industry fuel celebrity fashion with quotations from Gandhi, Nietzsche, Shakespeare and others?

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 20, 2005

Philosopher Garden was born from the imagination of two women who was tired of seeing the banal pseudo-messages on their teenage daughters' T-shirts. Marianna Baker, a former multimedia designer, and Lisa Michaelis, a former computer training manager, felt they could create clothing merging philosophy with fashion.

Jessica Simpson, Terri Hatcher, Tori Spelling, and Josh Duhamel are sporting Philosopher Garden T-shirts with messages like "If you're going through hell, keep going" (Winston Churchill) and "There are no facts, only interpretations" (Friedrich Nietzsche). These are just a few of the many people who have been inspired to express themselves through fashion in a new way.

With their label, Philosopher Garden, Michaelis and Baker have broken into fashion with a fresh perspective. Their simple yet powerful designs have catapulted their distribution to 150+ boutiques in less than a year. Currently, Philosopher Garden is creating their Spring/Summer collection featuring new quotations and fashion cuts. They emphatically relate to the humorous dictum of Oscar Wilde, "Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months."
