In the United States and Canada today it is becoming more common for a woman to buy her partner an engagement ring. These male engagement rings (or man-gagement rings) are growing in popularity.

Singer Jennifer Hudson is part of setting the trend. She spent $15,000 on a ring for her boyfriend David Otunga. Still, not every future bride is following suite. A survey on brides.com showed that 45 percent of women said they would go along with the idea.
