AmericanTowns.com now includes 2700 local blogs and receives 50,000 announcements and event postings from community leaders each month. The AmericanTowns' sites collectively feature over 100,000 news stories each day, and over 500,000 locally-related tweets. The new traffic records follow AmericanTowns' launch of its enhanced community platform along with a series of new features: Expansion of its local Community Calendar to include local Farmers Markets and more arts & entertainment events. TownTwitter featured for all communities in a Twitter-based section called "Heard on the Street", so people can find out the local buzz. Photo Gallery added for all communities, both on the homepage, and as a feature available for local groups.
