Diamonds, Dirt and Baseballs: What Do These have to Do With Mom?

A book for mother's of baseball players who are interested in making a positive difference in their son's life.

San Diego, Calif. (PRWEB) December 18, 2005

Diamond Moms, A Mother’s Guide to Raising a Baseball Player, is the author’s personal reflection on her experiences while raising her son in the world of baseball. Scheduled for release in January 2006, it covers baseball from t-ball to college and beyond. Written with the intention of educating moms on the ins-and-outs of a male dominated sport, it offers comprehensive information ranging in practical subjects such as equipping your son for the sport or providing baseball terminology for moms who are new to baseball to the emotional side of the game and how that influences parenting and coaching behavior.

For the past 15 years Conradi sometimes felt like a “blind woman in a man’s world without a guide dog or white cane.” According to Conradi, moms are less concerned with winning and more concerned that their sons successfully weather the physical, emotional and mental storms of a sport described by many as a “game of failure.” Information and knowledge create understanding that can ease a mother’s aching or concerned heart. Being informed and aware helps “diamond moms” make good decisions for their sons and their families.

Author Candace Conradi has four children ranging in ages from 20 to 33. Her active involvement in her son’s baseball journey gave her access to many coaches, players, and scouts who willingly provided valuable information for her book. Diamond Moms can be preordered from Coaches Choice at 888-229-5745 and will be available early January, 2006. Chapter summaries are available on listed website.
