View the First Virtual Mayoral Forum Sponsored by the Committee for a Better Atlanta The Committee for a Better Atlanta is hosting Atlanta’s first known “virtual” mayoral forum. On November 24, bloggers, political aficionados and concerned citizens can log on to http://www.betteratlanta.org and speak directly to the candidates. Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) November 19, 2009 In one of the most contested elections in Atlanta history, two candidates, Atlanta Councilwoman Mary Norwood and State Senator Kasim Reed, are headed for a Dec. 1 runoff. None of the six candidates vying to become mayor of Georgia's capital and largest city received 50% of the vote, necessitating the runoff. The Committee for a Better Atlanta (CBA) has been a major voice in the race, ranking the candidates according to vision, experience, ability to implement initiatives, managing government, public safety, economic development, mobility and infrastructure. Now CBA is hosting Atlanta's first known "virtual" mayoral forum. Che Watkins of Committee for a Better Atlanta explains, "There were over 50 live debates and forums, but this is the first 'virtual' press conference." On November 24, bloggers, political aficionados and concerned citizens can log on to http://www.betteratlanta.org and speak directly to the candidates. By visiting http://www.betteratlanta.org/forum prior to the event, citizen journalists who are not able to participate live can also submit their most pressing questions for the two Mayoral candidates. CBA is also featuring other undecided races, including those for City Council President, District 6, and Post 2 at-large. On-line participants can submit questions for all the candidates.
