21st Services Introduces New Services and a 'Concierge' Program

21st Services, a leading longevity analysis firm and provider of life expectancy evaluations in life settlements cases, is launching a promotion of four special services, as stand-alones or bundled into a new Concierge Services program. 21st Services, a leading longevity analysis firm and a provider of life expectancy evaluations to the life settlements industry, is launching a promotion of four services, including a pharmacy search service, a mark-to-market service, medical records collection and post-purchase tracking for life settlement portfolios.

The company has also introduced a Concierge Services program that bundles these services and more, and offers special discounts to Concierge members.

New services, new emphasis

21st Services has introduced two new services and is placing new emphasis on two that it has offered for years. All four are available as stand-alones, and three of them are bundled into 21st’s new Concierge Services suite, along with additional services, at significant discounts.

Pharmacy search

New at 21st Services is its pharmacy search service. A pharmacy search can turn up important new data in the analysis of an insured’s medical records.

Tapping a 260-million-member national database, 21st Services gets a list of the insured’s prescription drugs for the past five years. The search reveals conditions and lists prescribing physicians whose charts can provide a more complete picture of the insured’s health.

“The conditions leading to the prescription either corroborate the information from the medical records we already have or show us where we need more,” said Shelly Hansen, Underwriting Manager at 21st Services. “If we need more, the prescribing physician’s contact information is right there.”

Mark-to-market LEs

Also new, and responding to current conditions in the life settlement market, is a mark-to-market service for volume clients.

Life settlement providers and brokers have had many life settlement cases in the pipeline for a number of months. As they now reapproach funders, they need new life expectancy evaluations and updated LE certificates, and are ordering them in large numbers.

21st Services is providing the updated LEs at a discount. The service is available to life settlement providers and brokers who order a minimum of five mark-to-market LEs a day.

Medical records collection

The company is placing new emphasis on its medical records collection service.

All of 21st Services’ life expectancy certificates are based on an analysis of an insured’s medical records. “We have discovered that many clients, even some who have worked with us for years, didn’t know we could order the medical records for them,” said Megan Euteneuer, Services Manager at 21st Services. “Many brokers and providers find working directly with the doctors’ offices is difficult, something they’re not comfortable with. They’ve been very pleased to know we’ll do it for them.”

Post-purchase services

21st Services also offers post-purchase tracking for life settlement portfolios. The company will track policies to assure that premiums are paid and that death claims are submitted to the insurance companies. 21st Services also tracks mortality data for portfolio customers.

Concierge Services

These services are joined by several more in 21st Services’ Concierge Services program. The package includes:

  •     Discounts and priority processing for life expectancy evaluations
  •     Direct contacts on 21st Services’ underwriting and underwriting support staffs
  •     A number of free prescreen evaluations
  •     Discounts on medical records collection
  •     Discounts on the pharmacy search service
  •     Reduced fees for the post-purchase policy tracking service

The Concierge Services are offered for a monthly membership fee. Memberships are on three tiers. “For clients who are already ordering life expectancy evaluations in volume from us, the services in the Concierge program come at virtually no charge,” said Brad Bahr, 21st Services’ Vice President of Sales.
