NEW YORK, NY (PRWEB) December 21, 2005 -- Hundreds of well-wishers in New York signed an oversized greeting card created by online apartment rental service ApartmenTime.com last week, and the card, with signatures and messages of support, is set to arrive in Louisiana on Wednesday, December 21.
The card will be unveiled at the “Christmas at the Capitol” gala celebration at the Louisiana State Capitol in Baton Rouge that evening, attended by New Orleans Mayor C. Ray Nagin, Louisiana State Senator Cleo Fields, and numerous community leaders and invited guests.

The holiday card, created to lift the spirits of New Orleans residents in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, made the trip to Louisiana from New York’s Union Square. There, hundreds of New Yorkers, daily commuters from the suburbs, and visitors from across the U.S. and around the world stopped by to sign the card and send best wishes to New Orleans residents.
“Spearheading this holiday card program was the least we could do to bring a little good cheer to these people who have suffered so much,” explains Darren Rogers, President of ApartmenTime.com. “It’s been a labor of love for us, and a great way for people in New York to share holiday wishes with their friends in Louisiana.”
Richard Clarke, President of G. P. Clarke Advertising in New York and a partner in the ApartmenTime.com venture, points out that the holiday card “is a great way to inextricably link the hearts of New Yorkers with those of the people in New Orleans.” The effort, co-sponsored by G. P. Clarke Advertising, “will have great impact on the residents of Louisiana as people in the affected areas see how much their friends up North care about them, during the holidays, and throughout the year. It’s a great gesture,” Mr. Clarke adds, “and we’re proud to be a part of it.”
ApartmenTime.com was joined by Project Protect, Treadstone Construction, Hankook Tire America Corp., Archstone Smith, Holidaycardsonline.com and KL Design Group in devising and executing the holiday card program to the people of Louisiana.
