Announcing "The Best of PRWeb" Online Distribution Service Names the 10 Most Read News Releases on PRWeb for 2009 Lanham, MD (PRWEB) November 24, 2009 PRWeb, the online news distribution service of Vocus (NASDAQ: VOCS) today announced “The Best of PRWeb” contest which showcases the top online news releases distributed over PRWeb in 2009. The purpose of the contest is two-fold – first to thank PRWeb’s loyal customers for their business, and second to provide an element of education for the PRWeb community by showcasing the best performing news releases. The 10 most read news releases of 2009 can be viewed by clicking here. The first part, of a three-phase process, the 10 most read news releases were selected strictly on an empirical basis – page views – as measured by Google Analytics. All releases must have been published on PRWeb between January 1, 2009 and November 15, 2009 – and it’s noteworthy to point out that these releases each earned page views ranging from 4,000 to 30,000 during this period. The second phase will incorporate online polling where a panel of six expert judges will select the three releases they feel are the best. Later in the final phase, the PRWeb community and general public will be asked to select the single best release of the three identified by the judging panel. The panel of judges consists of six well-rounded professionals who each bring a slightly different perspective ranging from PR to SEO and small business marketing. The six judges are Amy Mauzy, public relations manager at Malibu Boats, Denis Hiller, Publisher, PR Newsletter, Heather Allard, The Mogul Mom, Janet Meiners Thaeler, Online PR Book, Lee Odden, CEO, TopRank Online Marketing, Mihaela Lica, senior partner at Pamil Visions PR. “Quite simply, this contest is a fun way to recognize the hard work of our customers,” said Bill Wagner, chief marketing officer at Vocus. “It’s also an educational tool and a means by which to share best practices for online news releases.” Additional details on the contest and the selection process can be found online at http://www.prweb.com/pr/best-online-news-releases-2009.html. The top three releases, as selected by the panel of judges will be announced in a forthcoming news release. About PRWeb
