Tool King Invests in the Community while Expanding Its Own Information Technology

Tool King donates server equipment to Woodrow Wilson Academy -- a Jefferson County Public Charter School.

With recent increases in sales and the launch of a new website, Tool King improves in-house productivity with new equipment while helping a Jefferson County Public Charter School get the equipment they need to expand IT resources to students and staff.

Tool King has grown in terms of human and technological resources, to keep up with customer demand. Founder, Don Cohen stated, “Our increase in sales was starting to strain our network resources; it was time to upgrade to accommodate future demand.” With this expansion, Tool King was left with an extra, useable, server system that wasn’t being put to use. Tool King decided to announce the availability of the server equipment to local non-profits to see if it could be used in a community-positive way before exploring other options.

Woodrow Wilson Academy – a Jefferson County Public School of Choice – responded to the offer, explaining that they also are expanding and have a need for the server equipment. “We will be adding a significant number of classrooms to our current facility. We expect that your server will give us the capacity to expand into this new facility without experiencing significant network issues”, explained Tim Matlick of Woodrow Wilson Academy.
