Online Radiography Program Offers Inside Track for Success

Pima Medical Institute Offers New Online Educational Opportunities for Radiography

(PRWEB) December 21, 2005

Pima Medical Institute, with nine campuses throughout the Southwest, announced they are accepting applications for a new online radiology program. The new online Advanced Placement Track Radiography course is open to individuals with prior academic and clinical experience in radiography who need additional training to be eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification exam.

The online radiology program is only one of its type available in the U.S. Prospective students must have a minimum of 43 ½ hours of transferable credits. The online radiography program is 45 weeks and gives the students over 2700 hours of training, including transfer credit. Applications and additional information are available online at http://www.pmi.edu/careers/online_rad.asp. Prospective students may send email.

“This new online program opens a world of educational opportunities to those who need further education in radiography but do not live close to a PMI campus, community college or university,” said Pratima Sampat-Mar, online education coordinator for the career college. “Offering this program online eliminates geographical boundaries and increases opportunities. It’s another example of PMI’s commitment to help men and women pursue a rewarding career in the growing healthcare field.”

Radiography is one of the Top 20 career fields that will be most in demand through 2010 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Due to the expanding population of the elderly, as well as the increased use of innovative medical technology for intensive diagnosis and treatment, the demand for these jobs is expected to increase for 50 years.
