Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 22, 2005 -- Former Inspector General Don Mullinax of the Los Angeles Unified School District and members of his staff appear in an eight minute FULL DISCLOSURE NETWORK™ Video Blog describing some of the instances where prosecutors failed to file charges on big dollar crimes documented in their audits, reports and investigations over the past several years. The video is available at http://www.fulldisclosure.net/flash/VideoBlogs/VideoBlog7.htm on the Internet, free on demand, 24/7 as a public service.

Those appearing on video clips originally videotaped in May of 2005 are:

Former LAUSD Inspector General Don Mullinax

LAUSD Investigator Karen Sexton

LAUSD Supervising Investigator Bob Williams

Anthony Patchett, Former Special Assistant District Attorney, Head Belmont Task Force

Interim LAUSD Inspector General Jerry Thornton

FULL DISCLOSURE asked former Inspector General Don Mullinax how he felt about the fact that no prosecutions resulted from his documented reports of waste, fraud and abuse within the Los Angeles Unified School District. Mullinax said he was disappointed after having spent almost three years of his life working on the reports and others, as well as having served on District Attorney’s Belmont Task Force investigating the Belmont Learning Center.

Besides the Belmont issue, video clips featured in the blog include descriptions of the LAUSD Inspector General’s investigation of adult schools which found classes that didn’t exist, ghost students and people working double assignments being paid, so they would work an actual job and then another job at a remote location. Investigator Karen Sexton told Full Disclosure the adult school contractor and other unnamed individuals were never prosecuted, that they only outcome of the investigation was they no longer work for the District and the contract was not renewed.

Bob Williams who was recently promoted to Acting Deputy Inspector General told FULL DISCLOSURE the BB Bond investigation resulted in auditors finding $600 million that was spent on different things that went to the actual contractors as opposed to the actual projects. When asked what the outcome of BB Bond investigation was, the supervising investigator told Emmy Award winning host Leslie Dutton, “the outcome basically, was nothing.”

According to Interim Inspector General Jerry Thornton some of the problems have been resolved but investigations are ongoing. “If you are looking at lower level employees, if you’re looking at people that manage cafeterias and people that do the grounds work, we could do this for the next 15 years and nobody would ever say anything to us. But when you elevate your investigations up to the hierarchy of an organization like this, you’re always going to meet resistance. Everybody’s for accountability until you hold them accountable”, he said.

THE FULL DISCLOSURE NETWORK™ has been producing a series of video blogs for the Internet using video clips from television interviews and events featuring prominent leaders who involved in the school construction, planning, development and investigations of the L. A. Unified School District and Belmont Learning Center. The video blogs and television programs are featured on 40 cable television system and video streamed over the Internet from www.fulldisclosure.net In 2002 the program was presented with a public affairs Emmy from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
