London’s Sutton Junior Tennis Centre and Dr. John F. Murray Reach Agreement to Host Dr. Murray’s Mental Training Workshops for the Next 5 Years in London Sport psychology workshops conducted by Dr. John F. Murray over the next five years in London will be held at the Sutton Junior Tennis Centre, home to the Sutton Tennis Academy, located 4 miles south of Wimbledon. The next workshops are set for June 23rd, 24th and 25th, the weekend before The Championships. London, England and Palm Beach, Florida (PRWEB) December 27, 2005 -- Tennis players in London have gained a regular home for improving their mental games. Dr. John F. Murray , a Palm Beach , Florida sport performance psychologist, recently agreed with owners of the Sutton Tennis Academy on a 5-year collaboration to produce world-class sport psychology training workshops twice a year over the next five years. See www.JohnFMurray.com.
The agreement provides Dr. Murray and associates use of Sutton’s world-class facilities up to six days a year for the purpose of on and off-court mental training, sport psychology evaluations and tennis coaching. Workshops are open to players of all ability levels, and sign-ups are on a first come first served basis. Training is personally conducted by Dr. John F Murray in association with top tennis coaches and touring pros. Sutton players, members and coaches are entitled to a significant discount.
"These workshops have been conduced in the past with the assistance of LTA tennis coach Paul Barton, and that relationship will continue," said Murray. “We’ve held seminars over the past five years at a variety of fine tennis facilities, clubs, and universities, but I am happy to have a more permanent home for these exciting events. It made sense last year when Sutton owner Keith Sohl offered the possibility of collaboration, but we had already chosen another facility for our workshops which featured two days of insight from British tennis pro and television commentator Barry Cowan, and a surprise guest presentation by a celebrity. I kept Keith’s name in the back of my mind,” said Murray, who conducts workshops all over the world and will be presenting in Istanbul in May. “Sutton is clearly one of the finest places on the planet to train and play tennis, so we are very fortunate and excited about this partnership.” Sutton recently opened a second tennis academy in Barcelona, and will be pursuing further expansion in the future.
Dr. Murray is author of the best-selling tennis book “Smart Tennis: How to Play and Win the Mental Game” cover-endorsed by world number one ranked Lindsay Davenport. See www.JohnFMurray.com. He has also worked with over 50 players on the pro tour and is widely known for helping American tennis pro Vince Spadea recover from the deepest slump in tennis history to win his first championship and return to #18 in the world last year.
Players who attend Murray’s workshops will receive a professional mental skills evaluation, complete performance profile, and one year of mental skills training follow-up using the computer and phone if desired. Tennis players of all ability levels are invited to attend these full-day seminars (on and off court) next year on June 23, 24, or 25. Enrollment is limited to an exclusive group of 16 players per day.
