furiousBall Wins Two DM Awards Experimental electronic artist furiousBall, scored high with DMusic.com voters and brought home two of the DM 2005 Music Awards - his track "TrailGuideHand" winning Best Other Song Year and a collaboration with UK electronica artist ChillinBuzz "Sea of Light" winning Best Electronic Song of the Year. Medford Lakes, NJ (PRWEB) December 31, 2005 -- Van Kapeghian, otherwise known the man behind furiousBall, has something to show for many sleepless nights recording in the extra bedroom of his Medford Lakes, NJ home while his wife and two children slept. A thirty-something year old software developer leads a double-life - suit and tie IT professional by day and by night, an experimental musician topping many independent music charts around the Internet.
On December 28th, DMusic.com, an online independent musician community announced the Second Annual DMusic.com Award Winners. furiousBall took home Best Other Song Year for "TrailGuideHand" and Best Electronic Song of the Year for his collaboration with UK electronic wizard ChillinBuzz, "Sea of Light".
"This is especially sweet for me," said Kapeghian, "Sea of Light is one of my wife's favorites and TrailGuideHand was written for her as well - a sort of thank you for sticking with me through some trials and tribulations that come with being a young married couple."
furiousBall's music is self described as "porn music for the insane" - the songs run the gamut from moody trip hop to intense aggressive electronic tone poems colored with sharps edges of guitar feedback, dissonance, and a healthy serving of found sounds.
What about the name?
"Well, I'm not angry mostly. The name actually came from a pregnancy website my wife and I were reading while we were pregnant with our son. Right now your child is a furious ball of dividing cells."
furiousBall will be releasing a new CD sometime in early 2006 tentatively entitled myself, 5 minutes ago.
"It's about losing yourself from worrying and not stopping to smell roses and such."
