Seattle Homes & Lifestyles Announces the 100 People, Places, and Things that Define Seattle Design

Seattle Homes & Lifestyles announces the 100 people, places, and things that define Seattle design in the January/February issue. SH&L contributors selected the most innovative examples of Northwest design for the first issue of their 10th anniversary of publication.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) January 5, 2006 -- Seattle Homes & Lifestyles (SH&L) announces the 100 people, places and things that define design in Seattle in the magazine’s January/February 2006 issue, on newsstands now. SH&L staff and contributors selected the most innovative examples of what is distinctly Northwest, highlighting area leaders and innovators in disciplines as diverse as landscape architecture, glass art, tableware design and restaurants.

“The challenge was choosing from such a diverse and fantastic selection in the area,” says SH&L Editor at Large Heather Paper. “We could devote a whole year of issues to the subject and still not capture the complete spectrum of design.”

“Seattle Homes and Lifestyles delivers to readers who are highly interested in their homes and who seek local resources to accomplish their vision,” adds Publisher Jill Mogen. “This issue, which launches our tenth year, is a change of pace as it showcases so many of the people and places that define Seattle design.”

Included in the list of honorees is native Bainbridge Islander Leatrice Eiseman, whose Pantone Color Institute leads the international field in color design. Architect and designer Jay Deguchi, of Suyama Peterson Deguchi, exemplifies the diversity of talent featured in the magazine. Others in the Design 100 include the Seattle Central Library, the Pilchuck Glass School and the recently renovated Canlis restaurant.

Seattle Homes & Lifestyles will formally honor the Design 100 at a private reception at Winston Wächter Fine Art on January 25, 2006. The event will kick off the first in a series of SH&L events celebrating 10 years of publishing in Seattle.
