SAN FRANCISCO, CA (PRWEB) January 10, 2006 -- Get recognized for your outstanding communication programs and prove that you are among the best in the profession. The deadline to send entries for the 2006 Gold Quill Awards competition is just a month away. The early-bird deadline for entries is 2 February 2006 and the final deadline is 9 February 2006. Visit http://www.iabc.com/gq for details.

Presented by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and sponsored by Towers Perrin, this year’s Gold Quill Awards program continues IABC’s 35-year-old tradition of rigorously testing the work of communicators and recognizing excellence in business communication. Each year, the competition attracts more than 1,000 entries from IABC members and non-members from over 25 countries.

An international judging team evaluates the best examples of thought leadership, strategic management, creativity, resourcefulness and successful solutions. Each Gold Quill entry receives personalized feedback from the judges with tips and suggestions based on years of experience and expertise in various communication disciplines.

All Gold Quill Award winners receive a mounted Gold Quill Award; acclaim at IABC’s International Conference in June 2006 in Vancouver, British Columbia; international recognition in the July–August issue of IABC’s magazine, Communication World; mention on the IABC web site; consideration for publication in IABC’s resource materials; and use of the official 2006 Gold Quill Award Winner logo. In addition, all Gold Quill entries (non-student) chosen as finalists are considered for the IABC Research Foundation’s Jake Wittmer Award and the Business Issue Award.

According to Marcus Ferrar, 2006 Gold Quill Awards chair, “Winning a Gold Quill Award is a mark of global distinction and a powerful endorsement for both you and your organization. It earns you respect from your colleagues and fellow communicators and proves that you can work strategically with top management.”

The Gold Quill Awards program also has a student division, produced by the IABC Research Foundation, which recognizes excellence in communication at the undergraduate and graduate school levels. Entries are judged against the work of peers by a panel of senior communicators. Visit http://www.iabc.com/awards/gq/studentdivision.htm for more information on the Student Gold Quill Awards.
