Mumbai, January 28, 2002: Swarovski India Pvt. Ltd, the worlds leading manufacturer of full cut crystal today announced the launch of the Swarovski Collectors Society (SCS) in India. The announcement was made by Robert Dell, Vice President Operations - Asia Pacific, Consumer Goods Division, Swarovski and V. Shivkumar, Country Manager -- Consumer Goods Division, Swarovski India Private Limited in association with the Oberoi Hotel, Mumbai.

Ever since Swarovski produced its first sparkling mouse 25 years ago, the magic of crystal has fascinated people around the world. It was in response to the overwhelming success of Swarovski's crystal figurines and decorative objects that the SCS, a forum where enthusiasts could share their passion for crystal, was formed fifteen years ago. Today the SCS is flourishing, with over half a million members in more than 30 countries enjoying an ever-growing range of benefits. These benefits include exclusive welcome and renewal gifts as well as exclusive rights to order the Annual Edition, the display stand, the crystal Title Plaque and the limited edition 15th Anniversary Vase of Roses.

Speaking on the occasion Robert Dell explained, We are delighted to launch the Swarovski Collectors Society in India which is our largest programme for crystal lovers across the world. Our direct operations in India began just a year ago, and the overwhelming response from our Indian customers has enabled us to make available the benefits of this offering to India. The SCS has grown rapidly across the world and now with India on the SCS map, the Asia Pacific region will become a significant contributor to the number of dedicated crystal collectors in the world."

The highlight of the announcement was the unveiling of the Annual Edition 2002 Collectors piece, the first in the new trilogy Magic Of Dance". The 2002 piece is based on the legendary Isodora Duncan born in 1877, who grew up to be a great dancer. Her life was devoted to her art and her overwhelming passion for dance. With her freedom-loving, emancipated views on life, Isadora Duncan is considered a champion of the struggles for womens rights. As a tribute to this exceptional dancer and woman the SCS Annual Edition bears her name: Isadora -- In the spirit of Isadora Duncan.

The Annual Edition is in the form of a dancing Isadora, characteristic of modern dance: the expressive pose, hair let loose, bare feet, flowing blue scarf and floor-length skirt with its elongated crystal facets. The successful fusion of these bold elements with such filigree crystal details as the movable facetted bangles was made possible by the very latest developments in Swarovskis unique production technology and innovative methods resulting in an unrivalled degree of expression.

'Isadora, the first Annual Edition in the 'Magic of Dance trilogy has been produced exclusively for the members of the Swarovski Collectors Society and will be available from authorised retailers from January to December 2002 only on order. 'Isadora comes with a certificate signed by Swarovski and designer Adi Stocker guaranteeing the authenticity of the piece and the base is engraved with the Swarovski logo.

Commenting on the Indian market, V. Shivkumar said India is a key market for Swarovski. We have half a million SCS members all over the world and a large number of collectors in India who are already enthusiastic about joining the SCS. We have a whole range of activities planned through the year to give the members an opportunity to communicate their passion for crystal with each other."
