Does the World Want to be Single?

In a world, where marriages ending up with a divorce almost everyday, the chances for lifelong marriages are going slim. Despite the common belief, US does not hold the highest divorce rate, WorldWide.

London, UK (PRWEB) January 11, 2006 -- In a world, where marriages, ending up with a divorce almost everyday, the chances for lifelong marriages are going slim. Despite the common belief, US does not hold the highest divorce rate, WorldWide. Belarus holds the record with 68 per cent of marriages, ending up in a divorce court, while Russian Federation follows with a percentage of 65. UK holds the 10th place with 53 per cent, and the US comes 12th with 49 per cent.

Professor Christopher Webb, who analysed the results said: "Lack of time and educational techniques have created a 'selfishness gene' in today's adults, who want everything they can get. That leads them to the inevitable result of a divorce.

It's a matter of fact that being in a relationship is healthier than being single for every human-being. Especially for elderly men who live alone are at an increased risk of dying from variety of illnesses. Men, aged 45 and over are at a 23 per cent greater risk of an early death, if they are single."

The eternal question is why we are breaking up or choosing being single, over being married. A survey findings show 29 per cent of every romantic relationship, including marriages ends because of infidelity. Besides infidelity, unhappiness and growing apart are other two important reasons, why the relationships fall apart. Sociologists believe that childlessness is also a common cause of divorce. The absence of children leads to loneliness and weariness and even in the US, at least 66 per cent of all divorced couples are childless.

"For a healthy and everlasting marriage, we need to learn how to love, respect, share and trust one another. We must learn these lessons in the very early years of our lives, back in our teenager years." said Zdenka Nigosova, dating advisor of MyBestDate and added: "Love guides us through our lives. Love of parents, love of children, love of God or love of a partner. We gave our decisions, listening to love and our feelings from childhood to death. So, if we know how to love and how to listen to our feelings, we can know how to live and we may get, what we really want from our lives."
