Five years after joining the European Union and NATO, Slovenia is a deep economic and social crisis. The unemployment rate almost doubled in a year, many of big companies bankrupt, and with no serious Governmental vision to lead the country out of the crisis people are seeking a new social contract.

In such an atmosphere only two weeks after big workers protests in Ljubljana where trade unions were protesting for higher minimum wages and against proposed Governmental pension reform, a new party is being formed called Slovenian Union party which aims to bring together citizens of Slovenia and proposing new social and economic model.

The political party's program called "BACK TO THE PEOPLE FOR THE FUTURE" is based on constitutional values and new humanly modern approaches to managing the companies and the state.

The leader of the new party is a former minister for labor, family and social affairs, and previously member of the ruling Social Democrats dr. Vlado Dimovski.
