KIT Solutions Awarded Expansion of Federal Government Contract Information technology firm continues growth with $1.2 million in additional tasks Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) December 11, 2009 KIT Solutions, a Pittsburgh-based provider of real-time, data-driven decision support services for human services organizations, has been awarded an expansion to its first federal government contract. Under a five-year, Data Information Technology Infrastructure Contract (DITIC), KIT is developing and supporting Web-based national data management and decision support for the federal Center for Substance Prevention (CSAP), which provides national leadership in the development of policies, programs and services to prevent the onset of illegal drug, underage alcohol, and tobacco use. KIT's $1.2 million contract expansion includes the updating and enhancement of the federal Minimum Data System (MDS), used to monitor and track prevention activities at the federal, state and local levels, and the development of a real-time reporting system to accompany the Web-based data management services already provided for CSAP. KIT will also integrate the Training and Technical Assistance Request Tracker System into the federal Prevention Management Reporting and Training System, and enhance online management and evaluation tools. “When we were awarded DITIC in 2008, we were ecstatic just to receive our first federal contract,” said Xiaoyan Zhang, president and CEO of KIT Solutions. “This extension makes us very proud because it not only shows that the federal government and CSAP are pleased with our interactive data management services, but also that they value our ability to help them continually improve the implemented software.” This contract expansion continues KIT Solutions’ recent path of growth and innovation within the technology industry. In October, KIT Solutions was named a finalist in the “Information Technology” category of the Pittsburgh Technology Council 50, or “TECH 50.” The TECH 50 represents the Pittsburgh region’s best technology companies. In May, KIT was ranked the 12th-largest Pittsburgh-area minority-owned company in the Pittsburgh Business Times, and more recently was named one of the “Pittsburgh 100,” Pittsburgh’s 100 fastest-growing companies by the weekly business journal: http://bit.ly/6Px6BH. In the past decade, Zhang has grown the company from five to 70 employees. In the past year, KIT's revenue has grown 85 percent. KIT's success has been recognized by a variety of media. Zhang recently appeared on the Pittsburgh Technology Council’s “techVIBE” radio show to discuss KIT’s ideology and secrets to success. A clip of the interview is available here: http://bit.ly/6Qe7xB. As well, the monthly business journal Smart Business recently interviewed Zhang for a “Fast Lane” feature, in which he offered advice on how to build a community of customers: http://bit.ly/Ikzlu.
