Local Designer Offers Vintage Classes as Well as Fashions Vintage Immersion classes address the daily loss of the finite supply of vintage garments in the world. Vintage-inspired clothing designer, Annamarie von Firley, and other authorities pass on the art of the rebirth of vintage clothing. Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 14, 2006 -- reVamp, brainchild of local businesswoman Annamarie von Firley, is known for its reproduction vintage garments lovingly designed and made with exceptional styling and details for men and women since 1998. Superior to original vintage apparel in durability, cleanliness, and range of motion, reVamp's clothing line focuses on fashions from 1910 through the 1950s. Not a bit of the integrity of any era is lost in these remarkable fashions, while avoiding the inevitable costume-y look. Collecting vintage clothing is a labor of love and a passion for so many of us, yet to enjoy it unavoidably leadsto the acceleration of its demise. This leaves the vintage enthusiast with the choice of purchasing reproductions or stitching garments from brittle patterns packaged and sized in the first half of the last century.
As of 2006, reVamp is proud to announce its series of Vintage Immersion Classes each month. This series of classes is sure to pique the interest of the true vintage aficionado. These classes will range in subject from adapting an existing vintage pattern to fit your own body perfectly, to fashion sketching for your own designing needs. Also offered will be a class on vintage lingerie. Bring in a 1920s cami and tap pant set or a beloved 1930s peignoir from your collection and learn to pattern from them. Choose from a selection of children's patterns to adjust for your own vintage kids. Discover tips and resources to help with your dream vintage wedding.
While vintage fashion has been all the rage for many years now, especially with the enthusiastic following of the swing dancing set, resources such as these have been hard to come by. reVamp has offered wonderful Hair and Make-up workshops in the past and still continues to offer these every other month. Each class is devoted to a separate decade and focuses on make-up, hair styling, and etiquette specific to that time period. These workshops are indispensable to the individual striving to be true to the past. In addition to the workshops, reVamp hosts monthly fashion shows in their historic fashion district salon in the model of the intimate daily fashion shows during the Golden Age of Bullocks Wilshire. Guests are welcome to view gorgeous vintage-inspired fashions, enjoy a cocktail or two and order an outfit especially fitted to them in the unique Art Deco salon atmosphere. Truly heaven for those of us "born in the wrong decade."
